Lavender photo tour in blooming Provence
Spots left: 4
Provence – the most romantic and, perhaps, the most “French” region of France. Sky, sun, sea, and endless lavender fields.
Here you want to enjoy life to the fullest, eat all the beauties of nature, soak up the heat of the sun’s rays and mellow with the freshness of a cool rose. Provence is filled with fragrances like no other region in France: lavender, rosemary, thyme fill the warmed air and stupefy the head. The region has become an inspiration for writers and artists who have found a muse in the amazing light of local landscapes.
Infinite fields of lavender and sunflowers – it is a picture that emerges first when mentioning Provence. The region has been cultivating lavender for centuries and distilling lavender oil. We will go on a fabulous journey through the flowering valleys of Provence, filled with summer scents.
Beautiful landscapes are complemented by equally beautiful cities of the region. We will stroll through the picturesque mountain villages of Luberon, many of which, thanks to the artists, have found a second life. And the famous Provencal markets, where you can taste local delicacies and buy souvenirs, will please us with city plots. I invite you to see with your own eyes the beauty that inspired Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne, Renoir, Matisse and other artists – it will be very interesting!
Arrival in Marseille, transfer to our hotel for one night. Evening walk around the city, shooting the city and dinner together, meeting with the group.
We will take pictures of Marseille at sunrise, walk around the city. In the afternoon we will drive to Provence to our cozy hotel in the suburb of Manosque. In the evening we leave for a landscape shooting on the Valensole plateau.
The order these days is as follows: we shoot the purple sunrise at Valensole, amongst the flagrant lavender fields. We devote daytime to rest and post-processing workshops. Then we’ll be off to the blooming fields again to catch the last rays of the evening sun.
During this time we will visit such places as:
– Abbeye de Senanque
– The Verdon Canyon (Grand Canyon du Verdon)
– such cities as Gordes, Banon, Manosque, Roussillon
– Ruins of the village of Oppede-le-Vieux
– Ocres park (Sentier des Ocres)
and much more
For a couple of days we will stay in the regional nature park Camargue. Camargue is a wetland, a mixture of solonchaks, reed marshes, marine lagoons and sandstone islands. These places were chosen by numerous birds and many animals. The symbols of the Camargue are pink flamingos, black bulls and unique wild white camargue horses that exist only here. On the territory of the reserve, there are about 4 thousand wild horses of a special local breed, which are called “Camargue horse”. Interesting is the fact that the colts of camargue horses have bay or black color, but over time it becomes lighter and becomes snow-white.
Our workshop is over, we’re packing our bags and depart to Marseille.
